Setting up a Domain on Ionos

Adding a CNAME Record

1. Log in to your IONOS account.
2. Navigate to Domains & SSL.
3. Click on your domain name.
4. Go to the DNS settings (look for “DNS” or “Manage Subdomains”).
5. Click Add Record.
6. Select CNAME as the record type.
7. In the Host Name field, enter: www
8. In the Points to field, enter your IndieMade URL (e.g., yourshop.indiemade.com).
9. Leave TTL at the default.
10. Click Save.

Setting Up Domain Forwarding

You need to forward your root domain (yourdomain.com) to www.yourdomain.com.

1. In your IONOS account, go to Domains & SSL.
2. Click on your domain name.
3. Click Adjust Destination at the top of the page.
4. Select Forward Domain.
5. Enter the destination: www.yourdomain.com
6. Choose HTTP Redirect as the redirect type.
7. Click Save.

Changes may take some time to propagate. Allow up to 48 hours.
