Setting up a Domain on Network Solutions

Adding a CNAME Record

  1. Log in to your Network Solutions account.
  2. Click the dropdown arrow next to your name in the top-right corner, then click Manage Account.
  3. Find your domain and click Manage.
  4. Click Change Where Domain Points.
  5. Select Advanced DNS and click Continue.
  6. In the Host Aliases (CNAME Records) section, click Edit CNAME Records.
  7. In the Alias field, enter: www
  8. In the Other Host field, enter your IndieMade URL (e.g., yourshop.indiemade.com).
  9. Click Continue and confirm your changes.
Important: Check the IP Address (A Records) section and delete any A record with the name www. An A record for www will conflict with the CNAME.

Setting Up Domain Forwarding

You need to forward your root domain (yourdomain.com) to www.yourdomain.com.

  1. In your domain management area, click Domain Name on the left.
  2. Click on your domain name.
  3. Click Advanced Tools.
  4. Next to Web Forwarding, click Manage.
  5. Under the Forwarding to dropdown, select https://.
  6. In the destination field, enter: www.yourdomain.com
  7. Select Permanent (301).
  8. Click Apply.

Changes may take some time to propagate. Allow up to 48 hours.
