Setting up a Domain on Network Solutions
Adding a CNAME Record
- Log in to your Network Solutions account.
- Click the dropdown arrow next to your name in the top-right corner, then click Manage Account.
- Find your domain and click Manage.
- Click Change Where Domain Points.
- Select Advanced DNS and click Continue.
- In the Host Aliases (CNAME Records) section, click Edit CNAME Records.
- In the Alias field, enter:
www - In the Other Host field, enter your IndieMade URL (e.g.,
yourshop.indiemade.com). - Click Continue and confirm your changes.
Important: Check the IP Address (A Records) section and delete any A record with the name
www. An A record for www will conflict with the CNAME.Setting Up Domain Forwarding
You need to forward your root domain (yourdomain.com) to www.yourdomain.com.
- In your domain management area, click Domain Name on the left.
- Click on your domain name.
- Click Advanced Tools.
- Next to Web Forwarding, click Manage.
- Under the Forwarding to dropdown, select
https://. - In the destination field, enter:
www.yourdomain.com - Select Permanent (301).
- Click Apply.
Changes may take some time to propagate. Allow up to 48 hours.
