Store Design

On the IndieMade Dashboard on the left menu click on Design and then Store Design.

Store View Style

The store view is how your products show up on the store page. The best way to preview store views is to visit our themes page. Store view styles are named from the themes they were designed, but you can use any of the store view designs across any theme. If you have photos of different sizes and orientations the Glaze or Ochre are nice choices. Products of all shapes and sizes stack neatly into the browser window. An example of an elegant design with ample white space and evenly spaced photos is Shoestring. Spend some time browsing all of our themes store views and you won't be disappointed.

Please note that we are currently working on customizing fields show like title, price, ratings, add to cart, and description. They are currently disabled.

Infinite Scroll

Infinite scroll continues to load more and more products as your visitors scroll down the page. No need for them to click through a page arrows. The only down side to this it takes more time to scroll to the footer to log in. If this happens, just visit another page that does not have the store view on it. To turn off Infinite scroll, uncheck this setting and you will get a more traditional paged results.

Product View Settings

Product View Style

This is the design of your product details page. Currently there are three designs. We are working on more and if you have some ideas, send them along, we will be happy to implement them.

Quantity Field - Adds a quantity select to your product page so your visitors can add more than one product at a time.

Show Similar Picks - Shows suggested category products at the bottom of the product page.

Category View Settings

Category View Style: These are the same styles as the product views and you can choose any of the themes category views for this setting.

Category Title - This is the main title on your category page.

Use Subcategories - If checked, the category landing page will link categories to their subcategories. Otherwise, they will be linked to their products.

Description - You can add an overall description of your categories or store with this setting. See an example of the category description on the Crystalline theme.

Image Settings

IndieMade can automatically crop and scale images. The Aspect Ratio is the ratio of the width to the height. A camera phone for example has an aspect ration of 3:4 an aspect ratio of 9:16 would be similar to a wide screen. When using crop, you can also choose the layout of how it decides to crop.  Gentoo is an example of an aspect ration of 9:16 cropped in portrait. Shoestring is an example of all the product photos cropped square. Note that Landsape or Portrait will not rotate your photos and is not used when cropping photos square.

Here are all the areas where you can apply automatic photo cropping:

  • Store Thumbnail Photos: The main product view page.
  • Product Image Photos: The main photo on the product details page.
  • Product Thumbnail Photos: The small thumbnails on the product details page (will not apply to some product views).
  • Category Image Photos: Category images.
