Offering free shipping

There are two ways to offer free shipping in IndieMade, depending on your needs.

Simple Shipping with a $0 rate

If you want to offer free shipping on all orders, the simplest approach is to use Simple Shipping and set the rate to $0.00.

  1. On the Dashboard, click Settings then Shipping
  2. Select Simple Shipping as your shipping method
  3. Add a destination (e.g. United States)
  4. Enter 0.00 for the "By Itself" and "With Another" rates
  5. Click Save

Customers will see $0.00 shipping at checkout. You can also enable the "Free Shipping" badge on your products (see below).

Free shipping using Promotions

If you use calculated shipping (USPS, Shippo, etc.) or want to offer free shipping only when certain conditions are met, use a Promotion with the Discount on Shipping offer type.

  1. On the Dashboard, click Promotions
  2. Click Add Promotion
  3. Enter a Name for your reference (e.g. "Free Shipping")
  4. Select Discount on Shipping as the offer type
  5. Set the discount to Percentage and enter 100
  6. Click Save

This is useful when you want to:

  • Offer free shipping on orders over a certain amount (use the Order Subtotal Minimum filter)
  • Offer free shipping with a coupon code
  • Discount calculated shipping rates from USPS, Shippo, or other carriers
  • Limit free shipping to a specific country or to returning customers

If no coupon codes are added, the promotion applies automatically when the conditions are met.

Showing a "Free Shipping" badge

To display a "Free Shipping" badge on your products, go to Dashboard > Design > Store Design and check the Show "Free Shipping" option. This badge applies to Flat Rate shipping profiles or Simple Shipping profiles with a single destination where the rate is zero.
