Bulk Editing Products

The bulk editing tools let you make changes to many products at once. Instead of editing each product one by one, you can select a group of products and apply the same change to all of them in a single operation.

Getting Started

  1. Go to your Dashboard → Products.
  2. Use the checkboxes on the left to select the products you want to edit.
  3. Choose an action from the toolbar at the top of the list: Publish, Unpublish, Delete, or click More Bulk Actions for additional options.
  4. A dialog will open where you can configure the action, then click Submit to apply the change.

You can filter your product list first using the search bar, category dropdown, stock status, or published status to narrow down which products you want to work with.

Quick Actions

These are available directly in the toolbar above your product list:

  • Publish — Makes the selected products visible on your website.
  • Unpublish — Hides the selected products from your website without deleting them.
  • Delete — Permanently removes the selected products. You will be asked to confirm before anything is deleted.

More Bulk Actions

Click More Bulk Actions in the toolbar to see the full list of available operations.

Adjust Price

Raise or lower prices across your selected products. You can choose from four adjustment methods:

  • Increase Price by Fixed Amount — Add a dollar amount to each product’s price.
  • Decrease Price by Fixed Amount — Subtract a dollar amount from each product’s price.
  • Increase Price by Percentage — Raise each price by a percentage (for example, 10% increase).
  • Decrease Price by Percentage — Lower each price by a percentage (for example, 20% off).

Adjust Stock Level

Update inventory quantities for your selected products. Three options are available:

  • Set Stock — Set all selected products to the same stock number.
  • Raise Stock — Add a quantity to the current stock of each product.
  • Lower Stock — Subtract a quantity from the current stock of each product.

Note: If any of your selected products have variations with different stock levels, this will affect every variation. This action also enables stock tracking on the product if it was not already turned on.

Set Track Stock

Enable or disable inventory tracking for the selected products. When stock tracking is enabled, stock levels decrease automatically when orders are placed, and products can show as out of stock when inventory reaches zero.

Set Weight & Dimensions

Set the package weight and dimensions for shipping calculations on the selected products. Depending on your shipping method, you will see either:

  • Pounds and ounces with length, width, and height in inches (for US-based shipping), or
  • Kilograms (for Japan Post EMS and other metric shipping methods).

Set Categories

Manage category assignments for your selected products. Three modes are available:

  • Set Categories — Replace all existing categories with the ones you select.
  • Add Categories — Add new categories while keeping existing ones.
  • Remove Categories — Remove specific categories from the selected products.

Categories are displayed in a hierarchical list so you can see subcategories indented under their parents. You can select multiple categories at once.

Set Variations

Manage product variation attributes for the selected products. This lets you update variation options like size or color across multiple products at once.

Edit Descriptions

Make changes to product descriptions in bulk. You can append text, prepend text, or use find and replace to update descriptions across your selected products.

Set Description

Replace the entire description on the selected products with new content. This uses a rich text editor so you can format the text with bold, links, lists, and other styling. Use this when you want all the selected products to share the same description.

Reorder Products

Move selected products to a different position in your product list. The list order determines the order products appear in your catalog. Choose the position number where you want the selected products to be placed.

Set Prices Vary

Mark products as having variable pricing. This is used when a product’s price changes depending on the variation selected (for example, different sizes at different price points). This setting is also relevant for Etsy integration.

Etsy Bulk Actions

If you have the Etsy integration connected, additional bulk actions are available:

  • Save as Draft on Etsy — Push selected products to Etsy as draft listings. Draft listings are not visible to shoppers on Etsy and must be manually activated from your Etsy dashboard.
  • Link/Unlink on Etsy — Connect or disconnect your IndieMade products from their corresponding Etsy listings. You can link listings (match IndieMade products to Etsy), unlink them (remove the connection but keep both), or completely disconnect them.
  • Update From Etsy — Pull the latest data from your Etsy listings and update your IndieMade products to match.
  • Push to Etsy — Send the current product data from IndieMade to Etsy, updating your Etsy listings to match. Make sure your product data is correct before pushing.

Tips

  • Use the search and filter options at the top of your product list to find the specific products you want to edit before selecting them.
  • All bulk actions run as a batch process with a progress bar, so you can see how the operation is progressing.
  • Bulk actions cannot be undone, so double-check your selection before clicking Submit. Consider testing with a small group of products first.
  • The product list refreshes automatically after a bulk action completes so you can see the results immediately.
