IndieMade Feature Index 2025-2026

Every substantial feature and upgrade shipped to IndieMade between August 2025 and August 2026, grouped by area. Where a help page exists it's linked; items marked docs coming soon are documented here first. This index is the master list we work from for documentation and customer announcements.

Variations & Options

  • Upgraded Variations Editor (v2) — complete rebuild: per-variation vary settings (prices, quantities, SKUs each vary by the variation you choose, not the whole product), inline card-based editing, combination grid, per-option photos, Etsy model alignment. Why we changed it · Using the editor
  • Variation Templates — Single (one shared variation) and Multi (bundled) templates, sync badges, one-click Update Products and Update Etsy, bulk price tools (same price, progressive, by amount, by percent). Docs
  • Variation photo linking — option photos auto-switch the product image; the cart and add-to-cart announcement show the chosen option's photo. Covered in the pages above.
  • Personalization — per-product custom text fields (engraving names and the like) with character limits and required/optional, synced both ways with Etsy's personalization, including buyer file uploads. Etsy-style add-on pricing for personalized text. Covered in Variations & Options; dedicated page coming soon.
  • Options everywhere — every store now gets Options and Variations enabled from setup.

Etsy Integration

  • Personalization sync — Etsy personalization fields import as IndieMade Options and push back to Etsy the same way, including buyer file uploads — the two systems are closely aligned. See Personalization under Variations & Options above.
  • Selective sync opt-outs — "Keep what I wrote on IndieMade" checkboxes for Title, Description, Category, and Photos on every pull and push. Docs coming soon.
  • Single-product Update from Etsy — pull one listing from the product's operations menu, with a redesigned confirmation. Docs coming soon.
  • Variation image improvements — listing image cap raised 10 → 20 so variation photos import; image alt text carried both directions.
  • Readiness state — products show what's missing before they can push to Etsy.
  • Clean disconnect — disconnecting Etsy now removes all Etsy data properly; OAuth refresh and stock sync hardened against disconnects.
  • Etsy reviews import — pull your Etsy shop reviews into IndieMade, matched by listing ID. Docs

Shipping

  • USPS REST v3 upgrade — replaced the legacy WebTools XML API; faster and more reliable rates. Docs
  • USPS cubic pricing — automatic rate-shopping for Ground Advantage and Priority Mail; small heavy packages save significantly. Covered in Test Your USPS Rates.
  • Test Your Rates — build a pretend order and see exactly what USPS charges, with the full packing and pricing trace. Docs
  • How to Quote Multiple Items — per-product packing modes (rigid / several fit one box / own box) so multi-item quotes match how you actually pack. Docs
  • ShipStation integration — orders sync to ShipStation for fulfillment; live carrier rates at checkout. Docs
  • Shippo integration — live quotes from USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL and more; includes a Local Pickup option. Docs
  • Japan Post EMS — shipping method for sellers shipping from Japan (kg-based). Docs coming soon.
  • Smarter multi-quantity sizing — USPS packages are sized from combined cart volume so shipping scales with quantity.
  • Discount to lowest rate only — now available on all shipping plugins.

Payments & Checkout

  • Stripe Payment Element — modern checkout supporting Klarna, Afterpay, Apple Pay and Google Pay through one form; wallet domains auto-register; duplicate-charge prevention on return-URL retries; guest checkout for all methods. Existing Stripe page; update coming soon.
  • Payment protections — per-site payment caps extended to PayPal; payment gateway configs protected from accidental deletion; PayPal free-item checkout fixed.
  • Meta Checkout — buy directly on Facebook and Instagram, with feed stock levels and SKU support. Docs
  • Multi-currency — automatic visitor currency by geolocation; prices, Similar Picks, and shipping shown in the visitor's currency. Docs coming soon.
  • Sales tax updates — March 2026 US rates, a ZIP Code tax-rate tester, and tax summary on the collection page; EU VAT fix for non-EU stores. Existing tax page; update coming soon.

Products & Selling

  • Product Search — clean results page in your store's own layout, header search on every page, sold-out products excluded, filter sidebar on results. Known gap: the "Search all my content" mode returns products only — blogs, pages and galleries are not enabled and there is no admin UI to enable them. Docs
  • Product Filters — customers narrow your store by size, color, material, or any custom attribute; admin UI to choose what's filterable. Docs
  • Products dashboard overhaul — token filter bar, Columns & Filter Settings (choose your own filters and columns), shipping-size warnings, up to 500 items per page. Docs coming soon.
  • Bulk operations expansion — Set Price, Edit Titles, Edit Descriptions with preview, Set Weight & Dimensions, How to Quote Multiple Items, Set Attributes, and bulk price adjust with rounding to .00/.95/.99. Existing bulk editing page; update coming soon.
  • Bulk price rounding & adjust — raise or lower across products with cents-ending control.
  • Back-in-Stock notifications — customers subscribe on sold-out products and get an automatic email on restock; subscriber dashboard. Docs
  • Product page layouts — new Marquee product page design (big photo, full-width add to cart, lightbox), Spotlight and Atelier refinements, visual Layout Style pickers with real previews for all 14 store styles. Docs coming soon.
  • Display Settings dialog — title/price/description sizes, density, teaser descriptions, price color, layout style — all in one visual dialog. Docs coming soon.
  • Show Price toggle — merchants can hide prices on listing pages.
  • CSV import hardening — BOM stripping, encoding fixes, no line-length limit. Docs

Reviews

  • Reviews system overhaul — verified-purchase only, card layout, star filter bar, search, sort by date or rating, up to 500 per page, store-owner replies, customer photo uploads, ratings-only reviews, public All Reviews page. Docs
  • Review growth tools — scheduled post-purchase reminders with your own copy and tokens, manual Send Review from any order, newsletter invite link that reaches every past customer, "all caught up" states, opt-in new-review email alerts. Docs
  • Review imports — Etsy reviews import (matched by listing ID, duplicates skipped) and CSV reviews import with batch processing, plus bulk assign-product for unmatched reviews. Docs

Orders & Fulfillment

  • Custom Order Workflows — define your own stages ("Designing", "Ready to Ship", "Picked Up") beyond the defaults. Docs
  • Bulk edit orders — select many orders and update status in one batch.
  • Orders API — REST API for external fulfillment: pull orders, update tracking, manage status. Developer docs; help page coming soon.
  • Receipt and invoice fixes — shipping method named on receipts for all carriers.

Marketing & SEO

  • Google Analytics 4 — full e-commerce tracking: purchase conversions, items ordered, checkout funnel. Existing GA page; update coming soon.
  • Pinterest Tag — base tag plus add-to-cart and checkout conversion events. Docs coming soon.
  • SEO tools — site-name title suffix toggle, category meta descriptions, XML sitemap for category pages, and bulk Search & Replace across SEO titles and descriptions. Docs coming soon.
  • Google Merchant feed upgrades — shipping weight and dimensions in the feed with a merchant toggle. Docs
  • Promotions upgrades — per-promotion "Do not stack", order-level conditions evaluated against the discounted subtotal, search-first product/category pickers with chips, better date UX. Existing promotions page; update coming soon.

Storefront & Design

  • Section editor upgrades — template selector redesign with visual schematic previews, new templates, overlay visualization with drag-and-drop reordering, save-as-template. Existing sections page; update coming soon.
  • Category Manager redesign — drag-and-drop reordering, horizontal drag to nest subcategories, thumbnails with hover preview, live hero preview. Existing categories page; update coming soon.
  • Category descriptions & SEO — WYSIWYG category descriptions and meta description fields.
  • Storefront modernization — the storefront theme was rebuilt on a new structure.css design system; mobile fixes (logo, header spacing, menus).
  • Dark theme mode — dark color scheme option in Design settings. Docs coming soon.
  • Contact Form Builder — drag-and-drop custom contact form fields, DMARC-compliant sending, bulk delete for submissions. Docs coming soon.

Dashboard & Admin

  • Dashboard v2 redesign — the seller dashboard rebuilt on a modern framework: collapsible sidebar, settings drawer, card layout, rebuilt Store Settings with clear sections, mega menu navigation. Rolling out; docs coming soon.
  • Users dashboard — view customer accounts with carts, reset passwords, manage users. Docs coming soon.
  • Inventory Valuation Report — total value of your inventory with category drill-down. Docs coming soon.
  • What's New in the dashboard — a megaphone menu item showing recent changes in plain language.
  • Help site — this documentation platform itself, with its own theme and API, launched this year.

Platform

  • Custom domain redirects — rebuilt redirect handling, API paths excluded.
  • Performance — O(1) variation loading on product pages, search index queries optimized, 275 MB of unused font assets removed.
  • Migration tools — legacy IndieMade store migration with user mapping and full order history preserved.
  • IndieMade API (MCP) — a comprehensive management API covering products, variations, orders, galleries, files, filters, sections, and store settings — the foundation for AI-assisted store management. Developer docs.
